Ed's Fish House - North Nashville Location: Fresh Seafood and Flavorful Dishes

I just placed an order today for a family of 4 people, delivery. The fish arrived fresh, sides included a variety from spaghetti, fries, okra, onion rings and strawberry cake for dessert. Everything was seasoned to perfection! I highly recommend this restaurant for fresh hot fish and variety of sides to compliment! Huge shout out the owners and staff! Keep up the good work!

The food was great. I had whiting fish with white beans and fries. The beans had onions in them so it wasn’t good but the fish itself was PERFECTION.(remember guys to reduce the use of plastic because it gets into our oceans and fresh water and our fish eats the plastic and that’s how we get microplastics inside of us)

I ordered the Whiting Fish Plate with 2 sides to include potato salad and spaghetti. Let me start with the fish by saying the seasoning and batter was perfect! I tried the potato salad for the first time and its now a favorite. The spaghetti taste so good with the fish. I'm so satisfied. I recommend for anyone and everyone to eat there. Wow! Comfort food for sure.

Everything was delicious! My sandwich was perfect! Just enough onions, hot sauce, and mustard.

This fish house is a traditional take out place in North Nashville. So many students from both Fisk and Tennessee State University frequent this place. Alumni literally go to this place before they visit the campus This place is also frequented by many who come back to visit Nashville. It's a takeout place only. And it's only drive-thru. The fish is always hot. And the sandwiches are some of the best fish sandwiches in Nashville. I have gone to many of these simple and small menu type of places throughout Nashville that specializes in fried Fisk plates and sandwiches. And I can say that this place has the most consistent quality offering of their fish sandwich and fish dinner then any other similar place in Nashville. When you go to this place, the fish sandwich comes with hot sauce, mustard, and you can add onions. By way the onions are raw, not cooked. I do without the hot sauce and keep everything else. The fish plate it's also a wonderful option. I do without the mustard and hot sauce with the plate because I also have coleslaw and spaghetti that goes with it. Both a side items are good. My fish of choices catfish. They also serve whiting. There can be long lines during lunch and in the evening after 4:00 p.m. especially Wednesday through Friday. Be mindful that when the lines are long, it would take a little while for orders to get done. They fry when the order comes in. They do not fry prior. This is why the fish is hot, the batter is not burnt. The slight only complain, and it is slight, I can tell sometimes when the day has been really busy. Although the cook on the fish is still consistent, the customer service can be sometimes, well let's say, they had a long day and sometimes it shows. Otherwise, I recommend this place highly, especially for those who love that good old-fashioned Tennessee Southern fried fish.

My name is Reece, I’ve been in Nashville Tennessee for 3yrs from Milwaukee Wisconsin and finally I found my home fish place….excellent service/Food I’ve visited at least 7-8 fish restaurants and only one was ok but today 10/5/25 visiting (Ed’s Fish House) I’m finally satisfied thank you so much and see you in a couple days! Ed's fishhouse is delicious! It is worth it! Its not the easiest to obtain with the lines constantly hanging out of the parking lot but that should let you know how worth it, it is. The line runs quicker than you realize and the fish was fresh, crispy, well seasoned and delicious. I will not hestiate to get a fish plate from Ed's anytime!

I've been going to Ed's since the late 70's when it was on 11th Ave not far from the Capitol. Always get the whitefish SW. I bring it home, deconstruct it, and make a 2nd sandwich for me & the wife. U get plenty of fish to do that. Two slices of bread, some Crystal hot sauce, more mustard & onion, and you're in business.
